Carroll County Home

In August 1997, the Carroll County, Illinois Chapter of Pheasants Forever signed the charter to become the 584th county in the United States to promote the principles, values and conservation programs established by the Pheasants Forever National Orgaization.

Carroll County, situated in Northwestern Illinois, has varied topography from gentle rolling farmland in the central and eastern parts to hills, palisades and forests abundant in all wildlife forms in the west along the Mississippi River.

16,000 people call Carroll County home. Most of them work in agriculture. Others are employed in light industry, retail and service jobs. Many of our members live outside the county but own land here that they place into habitat projects. The natural beauty of the area from the "pheasant range" in the east to the deer and turkey habitat in the west prompts some of the residents to call their home a "Sportsman's Paradise."

At our 11th Annual Banquet on March 8, we celebrated 10 great years of habitat and youth programs. Our efforts in 2007 resulted in being recognized in the PF Annual Report as ...
